By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor

The 2025 slow-pitch softball season came to an end on April 22 for the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs as they were eliminated from the Class 5A state playoffs with backto- back one-run losses to the district-host Sequoyah- Tahlequah Lady Indians after routing the Locust Grove Lady Pirates.

At the Class 5A District Tournament on April 22 at Sequoyah-Tahlequah High School, the Lady Bulldogs handled the Lady Pirates 12-1 in five innings, but then lost twice to the Lady Indians by scores of 3-2 and 2-1 to see their season end.

Last week did start on a high note with a 7-3 home Senior Night victory over the Checotah Lady Wildcats on April 21.

In the win over Checotah, the Lady Bulldogs (7-12) snapped a five-game losing streak with the win.

After falling behind the Lady Wildcats took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, the Lady Bulldogs scored four runs in the first inning and single runs in the second, third and fifth innings to complete the comefrom- behind victory.

For the game, Danica Tune was 2-for-3 with a double and a run batted in, Jaydin Dean was 2-for-3 with a run scored, Amaya Duran was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored for Muldrow. Dean (7-12) got the win.

In the district-tournament victory over Locust Grove, after falling behind the Lady Pirates 1-0 in the first inning, the Lady Bulldogs scored seven runs in the first inning and five runs in the third inning for a 12-1 lead to put the game into run-rule status.
