OKTAHA — The Central Tigers suffered losses in their only games played last week as they lost 4-1 in a battle of Tigers to Oktaha, then suffered an 11-3 loss to Wister in a game called due to the contest reaching run-rule status after six innings.
In the loss to the host Tigers, Oktaha broke a 1-all tie with a threerun fifth inning.
In defeat, Hardy Buzzard, Kage Poindexter and Kiefer Bailey each singled for Central’s three hits.
Ryker Miller (3-3) took the loss, going the first 4.2 innings with four strikeouts. Buzzard went the final 1.1 innings with a strikeout.
In the loss to Wister, the Wildcats rallied from a 3-1 third-inning deficit with a four-run third inning and a run in the fourth inning to take the lead for good at 6-3. A five-run sixth inning put the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Buzzard was 2-for-3 for the Tigers (9-15).
Bailey (5-3) suffered the loss, going the first 4.1 innings with three strikeouts. Buzzard got the game’s final two outs.
The Tigers will begin the postseason this week by playing in the Class 2A Regional Tournament. However, the match-ups, site and times were not yet determined at press time.
