Central Lady Tigers beat Vian, Porum, lose to Quinton

The Central Lady Tigers went 2-1 last week, getting a home win over Vian by the score of 10-9 on April 14, while splitting two games in Thursday’s home threeway — beating Porum 8-4 by doing 11-4 to Quinton.

In the win over Vian, the Lady Tigers (7-9), who trailed 9-4 in the sixth inning, scored five runs in the sixth inning to tie the game at 9-all and walked it off in the seventh inning as Ayrland Jiles stole home for the game-winning run.

For the game, Brenleigh Allen was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, Alyvia Warner was 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs batted in and a run scored, Char-lie Petree was 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored, Keeley Poindexter was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, Jiles doubled with an RBI and a run scored and Allie Harris tripled with two RBIs and a run scored for Central.

Gretchen Reed (2-4) got her first win of the season, pitching a total of four innings in two stints with two strikeouts. Jhaselyn Gonzalez pitched an inning in relief.

In the victory over Porum, the Lady Tigers broke a 2-all tie with a six-run fourth inning to take an 8-2 lead after three innings.

For the game, Petree was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, Brianna Taylor was 2-for-3 with a run scored, Jiles was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, Poindexter was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored, Harris was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored and Allen tripled with an RBI for Central. Reed got the win.

In the loss to Quinton, after the Lady Tigers took a 3-0 lead after an inning, the Lady Savages put away the game with a nine-run second inning and a run in the third inning for a 10-3 lead.

In defeat, Petree and Jiles were each 2-for-3 with a run scored, Poindexter was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Allen was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Camryn Gilliam was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Alyvia Warner was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Central. Reed took the loss.

The Lady Tigers will join the Gore Lady Pirates as they visit the Wister Lady Wildcats this week for the Class 3A District Tournament.
