CASC’s Passmore serves as guest speaker at OK Higher Ed Day

Carl Albert State College (CASC) was proud to participate in Oklahoma Higher Education Day at the State Capitol, an annual event that celebrates the impact and importance of higher education across the state.

This year, CASC was especially honored to have one of its own, nursing student Maci Passmore, serve as a featured guest student speaker during the event.

Passmore took the stage to share her journey in higher education and the role CASC has played in helping her pursue a career in nursing. Her story highlighted the value of accessible, affordable, and high-quality education provided by Oklahoma’s colleges and universities.

Passmore is a sophomore at Carl Albert State College, originally from Muldrow, and a proud graduate of Muldrow High School. She is currently pursuing her passion for healthcare as a student nurse in the CASC Nursing Program.

An active and engaged student leader, Passmore is a member of the prestigious CASC Scholars Program, a PLC student, and serves as a Resident Assistant. She is also an officer in the CASC Student Government Association, where she plays a key role in representing and advocating for her fellow students.

Her dedication to academics, leadership, and campus involvement makes her a valued member of the Viking community.

“We are incredibly proud of Maci and the way she represented Carl Albert State College,” said CASC President Jay Falkner. “Her passion, professionalism, and poise truly captured the spirit of what Oklahoma Higher Ed Day is all about.”

Held annually, Oklahoma Higher Education Day provides students, educators, and administrators with the opportunity to engage with lawmakers and advocate for continued support of higher education funding and policy initiatives.

Carl Albert State College remains committed to student success, and moments like these showcase the power of education to change lives and strengthen communities.
