Gans Lady Grizzlies suffer losses to Keota, Gore in Riverside Conference Tournament
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor,

It was a rough week last week for the Gans Lady Grizzlies, who lost both games Friday in the Riverside Conference Tournament — suffering a 12-3 four-inning loss to Keota and a 14-2 threeinning setback to Gore — before opening last week with a 16-6, fourinning road loss to the Lady Pirates on April 8.

In the loss to Keota, the Lady Lions scored five runs in the first inning and six runs in the second inning for an 11-0 lead after two innings to put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Gabbie Price was 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Lady Grizzlies (3-12). Destiny Phillips (2-7) suffered the loss.

In the tournament loss to Gore, the Lady Grizzlies took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, only to see the Lady Pirates respond with a four-run first inning and a 10-run second inning for a 14-1 lead after two innings to put the game into runrule status.

In defeat, Addy Bibbs was 2-for-2, while Price tripled and scored once for Gans.

Yesenia Gaona (2-2) suffered the loss as she only went the first twothirds of the opening inning. Phillips went the rest of the way.

In the non-tournament loss to Gore, the Lady Pirates (6-8) put away the game early with a 10-run first inning. A run in the fourth inning put the game into runrule status.

In defeat, Abigail Leach was 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored for the Lady Grizzlies. Destiny Phillips took the loss.

On Friday, the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA) sent the Lady Grizzlies to Rattan for the Class 2A District Tournament, which will take place April 24-26.
