Former Roland Rangers pitcher Carson Wiggins saw action twice last week for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
In the Hogs’ 7-3 win over Arkansas State on April 8 at Baum-Walker Stadium, Wiggins pitched a scoreless ninth inning with a strikeout.
In Sunday’s Southeastern Conference series finale at Georgia, Wiggins pitched two innings with four strikeouts. The seventhranked Bulldogs took two of three from the top-ranked Razorbacks, taking Saturday’s game 7-6 and Sunday’s game 7-6 in 12 innings after the Hogs took the opener 13-3 on Friday night.
So far this season, Wiggins is 1-0 with a 2.25 earned-run average with 17 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched, all coming in relief.
After the Razorbacks (32-5 overall, 12-3 in SEC play) entertained Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday night at Baum-Walker Stadium, they will welcome Texas A&M to town for a three-game series, with games at 7 p.m. Thursday, 6:30 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday.
