Muldrow baseball team suffers through winless week
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor

It was a rough true opening week of the 2025 baseball season for the Muldrow Bulldogs as they lost all three games played, losing 17-0 to Sallisaw in the District 4A-8 opener at home March 3, then falling 6-5 in eight innings on the road against Paris, Ark., and 12-3 in five innings to Siloam Springs, Ark., at home Friday afternoon.

In the loss to Sallisaw, jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning, 5-0 after two and 10-0 after three. A seven-run fifth inning put the game into runrule status.

In defeat, Wyatt Prewett, Gabe Miller, Jace Prewett and Jackson Phillips each singled for the Bulldogs (1-3 overall, 0-1 in district play).

Jonah Claborn (0-1) took the loss, getting two strikeouts in two innings. Jace Prewett went the next two innings with three Ks and Wyatt Prewett went the final inning with two strikeouts.

Muldrow’s seven errors led to seven unearned runs scoring for Sallisaw.

In the loss to Paris, after the hosts scored twice in the fifth inning to tie the game at 5-all to send the game into extra innings, Paris scored once in the eighth inning for the come-frombehind victory.

In defeat, Brody Israel doubled, while Wyatt Prewett and Hayden McKinstger each singled for Muldrow’s hits.

Wyatt Prewett (0-1) suffered the loss in relief. After McKinster started and went the first 1.1 innings with three strikeouts, Claborn went the next 6.1 innings with 10 Ks.

Once again, the Muldrow defense let the ’Dogs down as four errors were committed.

In the loss to Siloam Springs, the visitors scored three runs in the first inning for a 3-0 lead, which became a 6-1 advantage by the second inning and a 9-2 lead by the third inning. A three-run fourth inning put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Israel, Miller, McKinster, Wyatt Prewett, Jace Prewett and Tripp Rozell each singled for Muldrow’s six hits.

Jace Prewett (0-1) took the loss, going the first three innings with four strikeouts. Wyatt Prewett went the final two innings with four Ks.
