“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Heb 11:1,2,5,6).
God is looking for men and women who will live by faith. He is calling us to trust Him.
Have you thought about the “heroes of faith” in the Bible? Are you a Christian of faith? I will use the word “hero” to represent both men and women.
There are too many “artificial” heroes in our society and in our local churches. They are heroes in their own eyes.
The True Church has many of God’s Heroes who love Him above all, serve Him with humility and courage. The Church needs more Heroes of faith today. It is God’s Heroes that take the Gospel to the lost in this world.
Biblical Hero
God’s “Heroes” are men and women who live by faith. They have a vision of God. They know what He wants and how He wants it done. They trust Him! They dare to be different. Many Christians are uncomfortable around God’s heroes. Why, because it points out their lack of faith.
They are called of God, obedient to the call, devoted to Him. They live by faith! They are both men and women! One must not judge God’s decision. A Hero is not always the leader, but one who is obedient. They may not stand out in the community or local church, but God’s Hand is upon them and the Holy Spirit is at work in and through them. They express faith.
True Heroes are true to the call. When they sees a problem, it becomes an opportunity for faith and obedience no matter the circumstance. They move forward by faith and prayer under the leadership of God (Hebrews 11).
God’s Heroes have a vision of what God wants them to do. They trust Him! They have a vision of the big picture: Witness of the Gospel, Heaven prepared for Christians, Hell prepared for Satan and all who reject God.
The Heroes believe what they profess. They live it. They understand the call and move forward. The Heroes trust in all of God’s promises. They study His Word to know it and then they claim it as they live.
The Heroes hear what God is saying, accept it, and trust Him to bring all to pass. The Heroes of God encourage God’s people to be faithful in witnessing, prayer, study and worship. They encourage all to look for the coming of Jesus in the Rapture and the Second Coming at the end of the Seven Year Tribulation. This is the “big” picture…their vision of what God has scheduled for this world.
God’s Heroes spend time alone with God. They have fellowship and worship Him constantly. They are in touch with Him at all times. They rise from their knees in full armor trusting that they can face the enemies knowing God is in control.
True Heroes of God will work with others for they know they need each other. They fellowship and pray together!
God’s Heroes do not fear “change!” All change must be with one purpose and that is to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. They do not change Bible Doctrine. Too many local churches are conforming to the point of “changing” the Gospel. These are “artificial heroes!!!
The Heroes know opposition will be present when God calls and leads them into the work or a new area of work. They depend on God to take care of all obstacles.
God’s Heroes are concerned for the future generations. They are not short-sighted! Many sound the music of King Hezekiah, “At least there will be peace and truth in my days” (Isaiah 39). God’s Heroes teach their children and grandchildren about God, His Word, Will and all that He is and what He can do. They live the faith!!!
God’s Heroes do not give up!
God is searching for men and women, the old and the young to trust Him.
