Central football player signs with Hendrix College
By DAVID SEELEY Sports Editor,

Central Tigers football player Aidan Sainer said Hendrix College made him feel like family in the recruiting process, so it made it a nobrainer to sign a letter of intent with the Conway, Ark., school, which he did last Wednesday morning in a signing ceremony inside the lobby of the Central Gym.

“When I first got on campus, they just brought me in, and I just felt like family,” Sainer said. “I had three other offers, and they were in Kansas. I just didn’t want to be too far away. They gave me an offer I just couldn’t resist. I knew then I was going to be a Warrior.”

“He is very well deserving (of this opportunity),” Central football coach Jeremy Thompson said. “With the skills set and ability he has and brings to the table, (playing college football) is very fitting. I’m super excited for him and the opportunity he’s got ahead of him.”

Sainer said Hendrix’s recruiting coordinator was in constant contact with him.

“Their coaches kept in contact with me,” the Central senior said. “My recruiting coordinator was constantly on the phone with me. It felt like family.”

With his signing, Sainer said he is now getting to fulfill a dream.

“I always dreamed of playing at the next level,” he said. “It just happened to be the right fit. I’m gladI made this decision. I’m extremely pleased with my decision. I’m only two hours away. I can see my family.”

“They saw in him really quick what I’ve seen for a very long time of what he can do,” Thompson said. “With his work ethic and the accountability he brings to the table, he is a great player. He has a lot to offer.”
