Christian Mayberry’s story featured in second book

Christian Mayberry’s story featured in second book
By AMIE CATO-REMER EDITOR

Christian Mayberry, 27, is sharing his remarkable journey of survival and recovery in a second book, “Fit 2 Fight,” which follows his near-fatal ATV accident that occurred 11 years ago.

Christian’s miraculous story of overcoming severe head injuries and regaining independence after being told he would never walk or talk again has inspired many. Now he works out with a personal trainer, staying fit both physically and mentally.

His journey began with a devastating ATV accident that left him in a coma for a month and fighting for his life. Despite doctors’ grim prognosis, his mother, Kim Mayberry, fought tirelessly for the medical care he needed, eventually securing out-of-state treatment after Medicaid initially denied coverage. Christian’s recovery, including regaining his ability to speak and walk, has been nothing short of miraculous.

Christian’s story was first published in “Navigating Your Storm,” a book made possible by United Men of Honor. The book shares the obstacles that Christian and others faced after unexpected events were thrown their way, giving a glimpse of how God works in victorious ways.

Kim said it all started when Christian met a man in Palm Beach, Fla. at a men’s prayer Breakfast.

“The man, visionary author Ken A. Hobbs II, asked Christian if he’d like to be in a book, and he (Christian) was quite thrilled,” she said.

Kim said they were approached by Hobbs a second time when he decided to write “Fit 2 Fight.”

“In March, Christian was doing therapy in Branson, Mo. when Ken asked if he would be interested in doing another chapter in his new book,” she said. “And we agreed to let Christian tell his powerful story once again.”

The book came out in November 2024, skyrocketing to number one the same day it came out. Not just in one category, but in five.

Christian also shares his message of faith and resilience at schools, churches and other events.

“We meet total strangers all the time,” Kim said. “We can be visiting another church, at the movies or getting a tag at the tag office. It’s funny how we can meet someone one day, and end up speaking at their church or other functions later on.

“And when Christian speaks, every eye is looking at him, and most of them are tearful. He’s genuine and speaks from his heart, whether he’s in front of a congregation or a single person; he shares his story and they are captivated by his actions.”

Christian and his mother continue to advocate for those facing life-altering challenges, and he is dedicated to bringing others to Christ.

“The Lord told me that I would bring thousands to Christ. As time went by, I thought ‘Lord, thousands is beautiful. Why not make it millions?’ I know that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” Christian said in a previous interview. “Plus, I believe in the unexpected.”

Kim said Hobbs’ wife, Kimberly Hobbs, asked Kim to share her story as well in the upcoming publication of “Restoration, God Brings Beauty from Ashes,” which is scheduled to be released in March.

Christian and Kim attend church at Vian Assembly of God where former state representative John Bennett is now pastor. Kim said Bennett was instrumental in helping Christian travel to Florida to receive the medical care he needed to improve after being deprived of oxygen for hours after his ATV accident.

Kim said the book is available in both paperback and hardback, and can be purchased through Amazon.

Signed copies of the book can be obtained by sending Kim a private message from the Pray for Mayberry Facebook page, visiting prayformayberry. com, or by emailing her at K.mayberry777@gmail. com.
