Roland archers do well at Shady Point Tournament

POTEAU — Roland’s archery teams did very well in last week’s Shady Point Tournament, which took place Jan. 13-14 at Poteau’s Donald W. Reynolds Community Center after being snowed out on the event’s original dates of Jan. 10-11.

The high school team was third with 3,083 points, finishing behind champion Howe (3,257) and runner-up Cameron (3,233).

Joshua Williams had the highest score for the high school with 277 points which earned him fifth place. Kylan White was next-highest for the Rangers with 271 points, followed by Easton Rainwater (270 points), Halyee Crossno (265), Jeremiah Peters (260), Trevor Lasiter (257), Garrett Clark (256), Kevin Guernsey (255), McKinna Cooper (248), Conner Cruz (245), Keegan Knapp (241), Summer Sanders (240), Laynie Roedenbeck (239), Miracle Bush (238), Colton Peters (238), Robby Pike (235), Gracie Just (228), Kaden White (223), Miguel Chavez-Trammell (220), Bladen Menendez (215), Seth Clark (214) and Brooklin Peters (204).

The middle school squad was fourth behind champion and host Shady Point (2,962), Cameron (2,944), Spiro (2,840) and Howe (2,782).

Leading the way for the JH team was Londyn Vanterpool with a score of 244 points. Alyson Skidmore was right behind with 243 points, followed by Braylon Willison (242 points), Jerry Crossno (240), Mackenzie Hooten (240), Zenith Miller (239), Layne LaRue (232), Blayton Peters (230), Braelynn Berry (230), Crash Denny (221), Jacob Brown (220), Maddy Cole (215), Draken Menendez (212), Greyson Corderman (212), Austin Richardson (210), Brayson Reese (210), Meagan Allen (202), Lance Patterson (190), Connar O’Grady (156), Chan Allen (150) and Jase Knapp (144).

However, the Roland elementary team took home first place with 2,612, finishing well ahead of second-place Wister (2,413).

Roland also had the individual elementary school division champion as Landon Cooper had a score of 254, five points better than runner-up Gavin Glenn from host Shady Point (248 points).

Other elementary school individuals for Roland were Kamden Wornkey with 245 points, which was good for fifth place individually, followed by Sawyer Rainwater (242 points), Trevor Richardson (228), Talon Richards (224), Jade King (210), Madilyn Wornkey (207), Clara Smith (207), Bentley Roedenbeck (204), Grayson Prewett (203), Lainey Byrd (196), Holden Denny (193), Desiree Lopez (188), Logan Parker (182), Lochlyn Freeman (177), Zachary Collins (171), Madlyn Krohn (164), Brayden Finney (158), Ryan Svendsen (147), T.J. Krohn (146) and Kenslee Truelove (86).
