The Roland FFA Junior Wildlife Management team placed first at the Northeast Area Wildlife Career Development Event held at the Cherokee County Fairgrounds in Tahlequah, where they competed against other Northeast Area FFA Chapters. Team members were required to identify wildlife species found in Oklahoma, identify plants that are important for wildlife, take a test over hunting and outdoor safety, and test over the current Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Hunting and Fishing Regulations. A special thanks to the Wildlife Department at Northeastern State University for providing the animal and plants for identification. Also, a big thank you to Keys FFA for hosting the event. Team members are shown (from left) Gavin Oliver, Jeremiah Peters, Savannah Rivera, and Alex Brant. Savannah was also the first place individual in the Junior FFA Division.
