A Beautiful New Year to All
May It Be a Very Spiritual Year
By Shirley R. Watts

Last Year

Wow, 2025! Where did 2024 go? Our Nation has experience many disasters…including a political one, So many are without homes, and have lost loved ones, but God is merciful to us.

The Celebration of Jesus is the best way to let this year go out and the new year to come in and we must continue to grow in Him. We don’t want to be an undernourished Christian!

The only thing that keeps me going is my faith in God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is belief in His Word and trusting that He is in control of all things. What He allows is for our good! We must praise Him for all things. He loves for us to praise Him in good times and bad times, but the devil hates it!!! Amen!

Yes, we all can make so-called resolutions, but I like to think of it as “renewals” in my dedication to Him. It’s a brand new year, let’s all renew our commitment to Him. Ask Him to show us how we can glorify Him in all that we do. ‘Let us take an honest look at our Christian life. Say with the psalmist: “Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; Try my mind and my heart” (Ps 26:2). ‘ Take a minute and make a list and check it twice with prayer. What has changed in your life this last year? Are you growing in your Christian walk? What do you feel needs to change, and are you willing to make the change?

Faith or Fear

Maybe we lack faith: “…as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (Rom 1:17b) The devil wants to replace our faith with fear, and we must not allow it. Fear will cast out faith! How deep is your faith? How deep is your fear? We all can grow in our faith if we so choose. It is a decision we can make. Sometimes we may take three steps forward, and feels like four steps back, but we must not give up. Are you living more by faith or fear? When we meet Jesus, we do not want to be ashamed of our lack of faith in Him in our Christian life.

The Bible

Maybe we can read the Bible more often and more seriously and listen as God speaks to us. The Christian cannot grow in faith if not reading God’s Word. Do you enjoy reading your Bible? How often do you read it? Have you ever given another person a Bible? Do you love His Word?

Prayer

Do you have a daily prayer time with the Lord? How often do you pray for your family and friends, and the Christians around the world? When was the last time God answered a prayer in your life? Are you praying for the unbelievers? Do you pray about all things in your life.

Evangelism

Maybe we need to be more faithful in our sharing what He means to us, both to one another and the unbelievers. The lost will not be saved unless the Christians share the Gospel with them. When was the last time you shared with someone how to be saved? Have you ever led an unbeliever to faith in Christ?

These are a few questions we need to ask ourselves. Where am I lacking? Will I commit to loving Him more and do more? I need to think about my faith, my study of the Bible, my prayer life and evangelism. All these are times of worship.

Let us take time to worship God, praise Him for our salvation in Jesus Christ and rely upon the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct our Christian life.

What will be your “renewals” in this new year to God? “Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord” (Lam 3:40).

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting” (Ps 139:2324) Commit our lives to Him daily!

What a Beautiful time to love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ!
