Central Lady Tigers rally to down Gore before going 1-3 at Oologah Tournament

The Central Lady Tigers got last week’s softball action off on the right paws on Sept. 3 as they rallied from a 7-0 first-inning deficit to rally for a 15-7 home victory over the Gore Lady Pirates.

Then last weekend, the Lady Tigers went 1-3 in the Oologah Tournament, with the lone win being a 3-2 victory over the Dewey Bulldoggers. The three defeats were an 11-2 loss to Mannford and a 6-2 loss to Fairland on Thursday and an 8-0 loss to the host Oologah Lady Mustangs on Saturday.

In the win over Gore, the Lady Tigers (5-12), who trailed 7-0 after an inning, scored three runs in the second inning, twice in the fourth inning and 10 runs in the fifth inning to take a 15-7 lead to put the game into run-rule status.

The Lady Tigers amassed 20 hits.

For the game, Keeley Poindexter was 4-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and a run batted in, Alyvia Warner was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, Allie Harris was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored, Brenliegh Allen was 2-for-3 with a solo inside-the-park home run, two RBIs and two runs scored, Riley Rowland was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, Camryn Gilliam was 2-for-4 with a run scored, Brianna Taylor was 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored, Ayrland Jiles doubled with two RBIs and a run scored and Charlie Petree tripled with two RBIs and a run scored for Central.

Allen (4-7) got the win in relief, going five innings with six strikeouts. Jiles started but didn’t last the opening inning. The Central pitching duo combined a two-hitter.In the victory over Dewey, a twoout, walk-off RBI single by Allen scored Harris to break a 2-all tie to get Central the win.

For the game, Jiles was 3-for-3 with a run scored, while Allen was 2-for-3 with the gamewinning RBI for Central.

A llen got the win, fanning three batters in five innings.

In the loss to Mannford, after the Lady Tigers cut their deficit to 2-1 after an inning, the Lady Pirates put away the game with a fiverun second inning and a single run in the fourth inning for an 8-1 lead.

In defeat, Allen was 2-for-2 with a run scored for Central.

Jiles (1-5) suffered the loss, going the first 3.2 innings with three strikeouts. Allen went the final 1.1 innings with three Ks.

In the loss to Fairland, the Lady Owls scored twice in the second inning to tie the game at 2-all, then scored four runs in the third inning to take the lead for good.

In defeat, Allen was 2-for-2 with a double, Rowland doubled and Jiles hit a two-run homer in the first inning to put Central on top 2-0. Jiles took the loss.

In the loss to Oologah, the Lady Tigers were three-hit. The Lady Mustangs scored three runs in the fifth inning, four runs in the second inning and a run in the third inning to take an 8-0 lead.

Jiles, Taylor and Petree each singled for Central.

Allen suffered the loss, getting a strikeout in four innings.
