Muldrow cross country teams each 11th at Early Tiger Invitational; Brushy girls fifth

TAHLEQUAH — Both Muldrow High School cross country teams finished 11th in the 5k high school race at last Thursday’s Early Bird Invitational, while the Brushy Lady Mountaineers were fifth in the junior high girls 2,000-meter race.

In the high school girls’ division, the Lady Bulldogs had 287 points to finish in 12th place.

The fastest Lady Bulldog was Genna Stephenson, who finished 38th with a time of 25:36.93. She was followed by Emma Fields in 56th place (26:38.08), Jensi Fields in 86th place (28:34.08), Maysi Fields in 101st place (30:34.24), Isabelle Rogers in 105th place (33:47.18) and Noa Coleman in 113th place (36:12.02).

In the high school boys’ division, the ’Dogs scored 326 points to place 11th in the team standings.

Jesse Kilinic was Muldrow’s highest placer as he was 56th with a time of 20:30.18. Kendal Howell was 85th (21:54.62), Kden Rye was 108th (23:25.99), Jaxson Anstine was 120th (24:23.58), Seth Nance was 147th, Zeehan Bukhari was 149th, Brady Brasher was 154th, Michael House was 156th and Jack Pyeatt was 166th.

In the junior high girls’ division, the Lady Mountaineers were fifth with 111 points.

Two Brushy girls made the top 20 as Avie Lamp was 15th (10:14.66) and Peyton Campbell was 17th (10:22.81). Phebi McMurtry was 25th (10:52.31), Elizabeth Fleetwood was 31st (11:00.62), Lilly McInerney was 52nd (11:37.75), Jaden Fleetwood was 56th (11:45.94) and Tayah Pena was 63rd (12:20.34).

Brushy did not have any Mountaineers run in Thursday’s meet.

The Muldrow runners will next be in action at 3:30 p.m. this Thursday at the Owasso Relays.
