Funeral services for Joyce Kathryn Vann, 85, of Short, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, at Short Baptist Church. Burial was at Seabolt Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Vann was born on Jan. 23, 1939, in Everton, Ark., to Cecil Heard and Madge (Young) Heard. She died on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, in Rogers, Ark.
She was retired from GNB Battery. She married Hubert Lafayette Vann on Feb. 28, 1959, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Vann and partner, Belinda Smith of Hot Springs, Ark., and Christy Richard of Pea Ridge, Ark.; four grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Rebecca Wofford; two sisters, Anna May Saylor and Carolyn Carpenter; three brothers, Don, Jerry and Johnny Heard; and a grandson.
