Are You Pleasing God Today
Do You ‘Beliieve’ God?
By Shirley R. Watts,

God is in Control

“…Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him” (Gen 5).

Fifteen hundred years of man’s sinful ways.

We are “…to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,” ( Deut 10:1215).

“… our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases” (Ps. 115:3). And God “works all things according to the counsel of His will,” (Ephesians 1:11).

Through Adam all are sinners…condemned as a result of disobedience, death for all, without hope, doomed to hell and judgment would fall upon all.

God was fulfilled the promise of the Savior Jesus Christ (Gen. 3:15) who would come to die for our sins, and His resurrection giving us eternal life.

Christian

Be encouraged to see God at work in your life. The world continues to rebel against Him. Stay focused on Him…not the world. We know what is happening! Walk with Him, remain faithful, pleasing Him.

Man began to call upon the Lord. (Gen. 4:26). What a day it will be when all Christians call upon the Lord! What has happened to our personal worship? What will it take to get us on our knees?

Prayer

I believe Enoch prayed, ‘please forgive us for the way we have ignored You. For You are the One and Only Holy God. You are Allknowing, All-powerful and All-present One. You are the All-mighty and Awesome God. You are the God of love. I will worship you, regardless of the ways of the world. You are truthful and faithful in all that You do. May I always honor Your Name and please You as I live and proclaim in this ungodly world.

The world “…did what was right in his own eyes” (Judges 21:25). They were adulterers, fornicators, all an abomination unto God. “All of them like Sodom to Me, and their wicked inhabitant like Gomorrah” (Jeremiah 23:14; Jude 18).

“Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him” (Prov.26:12). “There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, Yet is not washed from its filthiness” ( Prov. 30:12).

Enoch

Enoch walked with God in the midst of an ungodly world. I can see Enoch as he yielded himself to God, proclaiming judgment against sin. He understood it was God’s World. He knew what God required (Deut 10:12-15).

Oh, that God’s people were more like Enoch! We have Jesus Christ, eternally bound for Heaven, NOT HELL! Let’s live like it!

Enoch refused to walk in the way of the World, “in the futility of their mind” (Eph. 4:17). He walked as a wise man…not as a fool. He was committed to “walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; (Col. 1:10).

“Enoch said, Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, [Christians] to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him” ( Jude 14-16).

Judgment is coming! Where will you be standing? We too can please God in this “ungodly” World! Be faithful!

Christian, are you walking with God or in the “way of Cain”?

Unbeliever

When will you accept Jesus Christ? You are being wise in your own eyes and remain lost. Condemned to Hell! Why do you choose the “broad” road to destruction? (Matthew 7:13). Believe in Him before the Judgment!

There is hope! God may be speaking to you, cry out to Him in humility. God will forgive you. Walk with God and you will inherit eternal life.

Faith

“By faith Enoch… for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Heb. 11:5-6).

Christian do “You” believe God?
