Let’s Shout Joyfully to Him
Commentary
May 14, 2024
Let’s Shout Joyfully to Him
By Shirley R. Watts,

As the World Watches

“Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods” (Ps. 95:2-3).

Things Happening Today

Let’s begin each day with praise and thanksgivings to our Lord God who loves us. Even though there is much turmoil brought on by the devil, we must take the time to give thanks to God. He is with us and never leaves us! We may be separated from our family and friends, but in spirit we are all together.

We can praise God in the mist of all that is happening today, and we must do so. If we let the “things that are happening” come between us and our worship of God, then, the devil wins. So let’s show the world that we love God, praising Him and thanking Him.

There is much going on today in homes, churches and our Nation, with the natural disasters, and politics, but we must rise above this in worship to our great God! These things must not steal our time with Him! Let’s burst out in praise and thanksgiving! We must glorify Him. Praise glorifies Him! Let the world hear us! We are the most blessed Nation! We are here to glorify God, taking the Gospel to the world.

Church, we are failing to do as we are called to do. We have the responsibility to light up the world with Jesus! We must repent and return to God, asking forgiveness for our laziness and lack of prayer and praise and the study of His Word. One thing missing today is that “there is no fear of God” in the heart and life of the Church. To fear God is reverence and love! Do you love Him above all and show reverence to Him? Today is the day of repentance!

Be Thankful

Be thankful for our salvation, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (Jn. 3:16). “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving” (Col. 2:6-7).

Be thankful for The Written Word, that we have the freedom to study, which many before us never had. We could lose this. Are you studying?

Be thankful that we have a Comforter, the Holy Spirit of God whom we receive into our hearts at the time of salvation experience and He remains with us, to lead, guide and teach us. Can you imagine having to depend upon the “religious leaders” today to give us the truth!

Be thankful for His promises…for He keeps them all! Amen! He is faithful! One promise is that He is coming soon in the clouds to take us home (I Thess. 4:13-18). Will you be going with Him?

Be thankful for prayer, a time of fellowship with the Lord. Prayer can never be taken from us, for we can always pray in our hearts to God. Prayer is the way we can praise Him showing our love for Him. It is a special time with Him! Are you spending time with Him!

Be thankful for our freedom in Jesus and our freedom to worship Him. We may lose public worship, but never in the heart! I am afraid many today do not know the meaning of freedom. Do you know true freedom in Jesus?

There is so much to praise God for and we owe Him so much. Let’s be enthusiastic in praise and thanksgiving.

Let’s take time out from all the “happenings” today and give time to our loving God. “I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, And will call upon the name of the Lord” (Ps. 116:15).

Church, the world is watching so let’s worship our God! Let’s make a beautiful sound as we all take time to praise Him today. Praise glorifies God and it pleases Him.

“I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness,” (Ps. 7:17).

Let’s Shout Joyfully To Him!

Praise Him!
