Muldrow Bulldog, Roland duo qualify for state at last week’s regional meet

SHAWNEE — Three local athletes, Muldrow’s Teaguen Collins and Roland’s Uriah Phillips and D.J. Massey, qualified for last weekend’s Class 3A-4A State Meet, which took place in Catoosa, by placing high enough in the regional meet, which took place April 29 at Oklahoma Baptist University.

At the Class 4A Regional Meet, Collins was the regional runner-up in the 400-meter dash (51.2 seconds) and the high jump (6-0) to automatically qualify in both events.

At the Class 3A Regional Meet, Phillips qualified as an at-large bid with his fourth-place finish in the long jump (20-3), while Massey qualified the same way with his sixth-place finish in the high jump (60).

There were other Muldrow and Roland placers in the Class 3A4A Regional Meet on April 29.

For the Bulldogs, Collins was fifth (23.11 seconds), DeShawn Wilson was 18th (24.37) and Grayson Bates was 37th (28.58) in the 200-meter dash, Collins was 14th in the long jump (18-2), Mark Gleason was 15th in the shot put (40-5), Kendal Howell was 16th (12:32.49) and Seth Nance was 23rd (20:09.09) in the 3,200-meter run, Jesse Kilinc was 21st in the 800-meter run (2:26.48) Wilson was 24th in the 100-meter dash (12.04) and Howell was 25th in the 1,600-meter run (5:45.13) for Muldrow, which finished 10th with 18 points in the team standings at the Class 4A Regional Meet.

For the Lady Bulldogs, they did not qualify any one as their highest finishers were Maysi Fields, who was fourth (90-3), and Jensi Fields, who was fifth (84-2) in the discus.

As for other Lady Bulldogs individually, London Hardin was 11th (28.24 seconds) and Landy Pacheco was 27th (31.02) in the 200-meter dash, Genna Stephenson was 12th (15:11.78), Emma Fields was 16th (16:10.37) and Isabelle Rogers was 17th (17:11.58) in the 3,200-meter run, Kennady Moore was 13th (54.0) and Gracie Atkerson was 15th (55.88) in the 300-meter hurdles, Atkerson was 16th (20.92 seconds) and Moore was 17th (20.93) in the 100-meter hurdles, Tiphany Martinez was 17th (2:44.09), Moore was 21st (2:47.97) and Cailey Grinstead was 22nd (2:50.03) in the 800-meter run, Gracie Prewett was 17th (1:10.28) and Martinez was 19th (1:13.29) in the 400-meter dash, Stephenson was 17th (6:44.26), Emma Fields was 23rd (7:00.94) and Rogers was 27th (7:35.69) in the 1,6,00-meter run and Pacheco was 26th in the 100-meter dash (14.48) for the Lady Bulldogs, who finished tied for 12th with six points in the team standings at the Class 4A Regional Meet.

As for other Rangers individually, Logen Thomas was fifth (436.5), Dalton Crossno was seventh (42-1.5) and Braxton Prewett was 13th (38-5) in the shot put, Nate Criswell was 11th (5-4) in the high jump, Landon Killer was eighth in the 3,200-meter run (11:21) and 10th in the 800-meter run (2:18.77), Paul Johnson was eighth (11.43 seconds), Trevor Lasiter was 12th (11.66) and Criswell was 30th (12.6) in the 100-meter dash, Lasiter was ninth in the 200-meter dash (24.13), Prewett was ninth in the discus (117-2), Killer was 14th (5:07.5) and Kyle Bradley was 22nd (6:27.95) in the 1,600-meter run and Josh Bower was 15th in the 400-meter dash (58.64) for the Rangers, who finished with 19 points and in 11th place at the Class 3A Regional Meet.

One Ranger relay team placed at the regional meet, but failed to qualify for state, as Phillips, Lateevis Jones, Lasiter and Paul .

As for Roland boys’ relay teams, Jones, Lasiter, Phillips and Paul Johnson were fourth in the 800-meter relay (1:35.69), while Mason Kemp, Jack Johnson, Bower and Bradley were fifth in the 3,200-meter relay (10:34.19).

The highest finisher for the Lady Rangers was Haven Freeman, who was fourth in the 100-meter dash (13.43 seconds) as well as being a part of the seventhplace 800-meter relay team with Mira Reagan, Brooklyn Hallbauer and Halle Freeman who finished with a time of 1:54.22.

As for other individuals, Hallbauer was 13th (29.35 seconds) and Kalee Campbell was 25th (32.27) in the 200-meter dash, Halle Freeman and Lilly Medicine Bird tied for 12th in the high jump (4-4), Campbell was 12th in the long jump (13-7), Reagan was 15th in the 100-meter dash (14.0), Abby Bower was 19th (3:13.03) and Hayleigh Wuest was 21st (3:33.77) in the 800-meter run and Medicine Bird was 20th in the 400-meter dash (1:14.09) for the Lady Rangers, who finished 13th with four points.

As for Roland boys’ relay teams, Lateevis Jones, Lasiter, Phillips and Paul Johnson were fourth in the 800-meter relay (1:35.69) and seventh in the 400-meter relay (43.35 seconds), while Mason Kemp, Jack Johnson, Bower and Bradley were fifth in the 3,200-meter relay (10:34.19).
