Funeral services for John Glenn “Johnny” Taylor, 71, of Muldrow, were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Lee’s Chapel Assembly of God Church in Muldrow. Burial followed at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Taylor was born on April 16, 1953, in Sallisaw to Inez Lavera (Harvell) Taylor and Joel Ryman Taylor. He died on Monday, April 22, 2024 in Muldrow.
He was married to Joan Hallum on Dec. 4, 1981, in Muldrow.
He was a graduate of Roland High School, a salesman for Farmers Cooperative and member of Lee’s Chapel Assembly of God. He loved spending time outside in the yard, working in the garden, and fishing.
Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Joan Taylor of the home; daughter, Jordan Taylor of Muldrow; son and daughter-in-law, Jarrod Taylor and Hillary of Muldrow; three grandsons; two sisters, Billye Ruth Mathis of Roland and Linda Stiles and Steven of Fort Smith, Ark.; two brothers, Jerry Johnson and Brenda and Joe Taylor, all of Muldrow; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kay Corbell; niece, Jamie Lynn Stiles; and sister-inlaw, Deborah Hallum.
Pallbearers were his nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, in honor of his two brothers.
