Fort Smith, Ark. – Visitation for Mary Katherine (Freeman) Bowman, 87, of Fort Smith, Ark., was held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at the Agent & Mallory- Martin Chapel in Muldrow. Burial was at Roland City Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bowman was born on April 21, 1936, in Bell Gardens, Calif., to Donnie Clifton Freeman and Otis Ellen (Gross) Freeman. She died on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, in Charleston, Ark.
She was a house cleaner. She married Kenneth Clinton Bowman on June 10, 1960, in Pico Rivera, Calif. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 2016.
Survivors include one daughter, Sheila and David Sparkman of Fort Smith; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Clifton; and two brothers, Joe and Kenneth Freeman.
