Muldrow’s Board of Education convened for its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. on Nov. 13, where the board addressed several items on the agenda.
Previous meeting minutes were approved, along with the resignations of Kristine Thompson and Haelee Trammell, various encumbrances, financial reports, fundraiser requests, and substitute teacher appointments for Kristen Carney, Jeremy McAllister, Leah Sheffield and Kelly Upton.
During the Superintendent’s Report, Clifta Fugett discussed the Parent/Teacher Conference numbers for October, November calendar, First Quarter Statistical Report, an early December Board meeting, and reports on District Dropout and College Remediation.
Fugett also highlighted the National School Board Convention and congratulated the high school cheerleaders for being named Academic State Champions.
Site Principals John Black, Joe Phillips and Janelle Tyler presented their respective site test scores and report cards to the board.
At 6:54 p.m., the board entered into an executive session to discuss the reemployment of Superintendent Fugett. The board returned to open session at 7:38 p.m., and Chad Sutton provided an executive session statement.
Dowen Green motioned to pay Greg Sharp for after-school hours worked during May and June of FY23, as well as his afterschool hours worked in FY24.
After Fugett presented the 2023-24 budget, it passed unanimously.
Also approved during the meeting were the school board meeting dates for 2024, and a salary stipend of $600 for certified and non-certified staff.
No new business was presented, and the meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
