Sallisaw – Funeral services for Robert A. Kilgore, 84, of Sallisaw, were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial was at 1 p.m. at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on July 16, 1939, in Cedars to Eunice Juil (Colley) Kilgore and Arnold Ben Kilgore. He passed away on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, in Fort Smith.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956-62. He worked for Gibson’s Discount Center and a long career in the auto parts industry followed, finally retiring from Car Color Center in Fort Smith. He was an avid car enthusiast, having owned many classic cars over the years and enjoyed reading Louis Lamar westerns.

Survivors are one daughter, Sara Teague and Clifton of Sallisaw; two granddaughters; two greatgrandsons; one sister, Valeria Allene Allbaugh of Sallisaw; two brothers, Rufus Eugene Kilgore of Sallisaw and Manuel Scott Kilgore of Huntington, Ark.; and several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Edna Mae Beashears; and one brother, Jimmie Wayne Kilgore.
