Muldrow – Funeral services for Thomas Studie, 77, of Muldrow, were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow. Burial followed at Upper Camp Creek Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Mr. Studie was born on May 16, 1946, to Lizzie (Christie) and Swimmer Study and died on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023.

He was an original speaker of the Cherokee language, disabled Vietnam Veteran, and because of his love for his culture, acted as a consultant on numerous television shows, movies, staged plays, and video games. He was a machinist at Baldor Electric for over 30 years. He later founded Razorform Tools with his daughter and two of his good friends, and also served on the Liberty School Board for many years.

While he was the father of two daughters, DeLanna Studi and Karen Williams, he was known affectionately by his grandsons Blayn Studie, Kason Hoyt, and Tristan Williams, and by his many chosen children as Papa Tom.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carolyn (Weaver) Studie; two daughters, DeLanna Studi and Karen Williams; his grandchildren; sister, Katie Mahaney; four brothers, Larry and Diane Chunestudy, Johnny and Lynette Studie, Jimmy and Sherry Studie, and Frankie Studie; and his wife’s family members, Barbara and Joe Lee, Wayne and Ella Fern Riggs, Lonnie and Twila Younger, Bruce and Jan McQuain, and Ann Weaver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Lucille Samples and Esther Studie.

Pallbearers were Blayn Studie, Kason Hoyt, Michael Lister, Barry Linduff, J.J. Barton, Anthony Boggs and Colton Lister.
