Central Lady Tigers beat Wilburton, lose games in Oologah Tournament

behind home win over the Wilburton Diggers on Aug. 29 to begin last week’s action, but then they lost all four games in the Oologah Tournament — falling 8-2 to Sperry, 5-1 to Dewey, 5-4 to Mannford and 8-6 to Salina.

In the win over Wilburton, the Lady Tigers (3-15) rallied for the come-from-behind win with a two-run sixth inning as Avery Warner hit a two-out, two-run double for the gamewinning hit.

For the contest, Avery Warner was 2-for-2 with a two-run double and a run scored, Cambree Bair singled with an RBI and Brianna Taylor and Alyvia Warner each singled.

Ayrland Jiles (3-15) got the win, fanning four batters in seven innings.

In the tournament loss to Sperry, the Lady Pirates broke a 2-all tie with a four-run third inning and a two-run fourth inning.

In defeat, Jiles was 3-for-3 with a run scored for the Lady Tigers. Jiles took the loss, despite getting two strikeouts in four innings.

In the tournament loss to Dewey, The Lady Bulldoggers scored three runs in the first inning and twice in the second inning for a 5-0 lead.

The lone run for the Lady Tigers scored in the second inning on Alyvia Warner’s twoout, RBI single, scoring Kallie Henning.

In defeat, Jiles and Cambree Bair each doubled, while Alyvia Warner hit an RBI single for the only hits in the game for Central. Jiles took the loss.

In the loss to Mannford, the Lady Pirates broke a 4-all tie with a run in the fifth inning.

In defeat, Alyvia Warner was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Jiles suffered the loss.

In the loss to Salina, the Lady ’Cats broke a 6-all tie with a two-run fourth inning.

In defeat, Avery Warner was 2-for-2 with a run scored, Allie Harris doubled with two runs scored and RBI and Jiles hit a solo homer and had three RBIs. Jiles took the loss, despite getting a strikeout in 3.2 innings pitched.
