The Roland Lady Rangers will being back nine players from last fall’s 15-12 team, which means a load of experience for new coach Mason Wiggins, who is taking over for Dara Tyler, who became the high school principal in late July.

“Our team has a solid mix of veterans and younger players with a ton of experience,” Wiggins said. “We have a lot of kids that can play multiple positions. Our program has been trending in the right direction, and we are very excited about the upcoming season.”

Two of the nine returners are seniors — pitcher/first baseman Emily Daws and centerfielder Kynlei Earnhart. Daws was last fall’s leading hitter and pitcher, and is a four-year letterman.

The Lady Rangers have two juniors, who just so happen to be twins — Scarlett, who will play in the infield, and Sara, who will be a utility player for Wiggins.

Rounding out the returners are sophomores — shortstop Addyson Clark, catcher Jaydance Bean, outfielders Chloe Strong and Aubrey Price and utility player Jestina Cantrell.

It would appear as if Daws will have someone to help her take some of the pitching load off her in freshman Kyleigh Knapp. The other two freshman rounding out the roster are outfielder Lillian Cole and utility player Aubriana Gragg.
