Muldrow – Funeral services for Betty Walters, 81, of Muldrow, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Muldrow.
Burial was at Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Walters was born on Jan. 10, 1942, in Muldrow to James Andrew Smith and Eva Pauline (Jackson) Smith. She died on Friday, June 2, 2023, in Fort Smith, Ark.
She was a caregiver. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Walters of the home; one daughter, Cynthia Phillips of Muldrow; one son, Dennis Garrett of Muldrow; three sisters, Vida Tibbit of Natural Dam, Ark., Sue Shepherd of Van Buren, Ark., and Debbie Bay of Spiro; three brothers, Ricky Smith, Hubert Smith and Charles Smith, all of Muldrow; five grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Wanda Prewett.
Pallbearers were Jeremiah Phillips, Jerry Prewett, Riley Smith, Buzz Smith, Shane Allen and James Smith.
