She married Bob Speir in 1958. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1990.
She taught school in Strang, Spavinaw, Cave Springs and South Coffeyville for a combined 35 years. She was of the Christian faith, an avid reader and loved to travel, oil paint, fish and sew.
Survivors are a son, Doug Speir and wife Jo of Nowata; daughter, Kim Hunt and husband Richard of Owasso; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Howell of Sallisaw; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Leroy Climer; and three sisters, Tressie Wilson, Lola Morgan and Betty McClure.
Graveside services for Cora (Climer) Speir, 84, were at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Seabolt Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Speir was born on Oct. 10, 1938, in Short, to Leonard and Maggie (Limore) Climer. She died on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in Tulsa.
