RIGH SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD
MHS’ Parker, Collins each qualify for four events
Several members of Muldrow and Roland’s high school track and field teams qualified for this week’s classes 4A and 3A state meets that begin Friday at Ardmore High School by finishing in the top 3 of their respective events or as an additional qualifier.
Muldrow’s Zackery Parker and Trenden Collins qualified in four events apiece for the 4A state meet. Parker won the 300m hurdles and the long jump and placed second in the 110m hurdles and the high jump. Collins, the defending 4A state high jump champion, won the 200m dash and the high jump and was an additional qualifier in the long jump and the 400m dash after finishing fourth and fifth, respectively, in those events.
The Bulldogs’ Teaguen Collins was an additional qualifier in the high jump after posting a fourth-place finish.
Muldrow’s Carmen Fields placed second in the discus and was an additional qualifier in the shot put following her fifth-place performance. Katelynn Moore medaled (6th) in the 800m run but was not an additional qualifier.
Roland’s Addison Cole won the long jump at the 3A regional in McAlester and Davohn Hall was second in the long jump and third in the high jump.
The Rangers’ Aden Sutton medaled (6th) in the 400m dash and Paul Johnson was seventh in the 200m dash but neither were additional qualifiers. The Rangers’ 4x200m (5th) and 4x100m (6th) relay teams were not additional qualifiers either.
The top 3 finishers in each event at the regional meets qualified for the state meets and the next four best performances from fourth through seventh (times, heights, distances) also
