Sequoyah County Commissioners proclaimed the month of January as Stalking Awareness and Human Trafficking Awareness Month at the request of Cindy Smith, investigator for the Victim’s Rights Office of the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Department the CCR (Coordinated Community Response) Team. Smith thanked the commissioners for their support and said the proclamation helps bring awareness to the problems of stalking and human trafficking, and the office is always prepared to visit schools or other groups organizations to educate the public on what signs to look for and what resources are available. Signing the proclamation is newly-appointed Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Beau Burlison (Dist. 2) center.
