Thousands of Oklahoma families have taken advantage of a new online portal for student transfers that became available in January 2022 with the enactment of SB 783. The Oklahoma Legislature made comprehensive reforms to Oklahoma’s school transfer laws in 2021, including revising the requirements for accepting and denying student transfers, and requiring school districts to set and list enrollment capacities on their websites. Students are now eligible to request a transfer to any district in the state, regardless of where they live.
