The retribution for playing hooky from school took on a whole new meaning — and consequence — last week when an extensive investigation of Epic Charter Schools by the Oklahoma State Department of Education uncovered egregious and fraudulent practices by the virtual charter school, including inflated enrollment and attendance records as well as millions of dollars in misallocated public funds.
