Back Porch Pondering
I’m sitting here remembering when I was about 10-years-old. We had a pond and I loved fishing in it. I would fish, after doing my chores, until it was too dark to see, then I would stake my pole out until the next morning. I checked it before school and many times my pole would be moving around in the middle of the pond. On the banks of my pond was a tree that grew up with me. I watched that willow tree grow, casting its shadow over the water. I tied my trot line to its limbs, it was always secured. My experiences on that pond bank have given me fond memories in my adult years.
