Retired flags can now be brought to the official U.S. Flag Retirement Box located inside the Sequoyah County Courthouse. Sequoyah County Emergency Management Director Steve Rutherford (pictured) said the box was sent to the county last Friday and is available for all tattered, faded or ragged flags that are no longer in use. “Once the flags are brought in, we will take the box to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and they will retire the flags in a respectful manner,” Rutherford said.
