The Cherokee Nation donated $1,800 to Sallisaw Boy Scout Troop 731 on Monday night to help pay for the boys to attend summer camp at Hale Scout Reservation near Talihina in early June. District 6 Cherokee Tribal Councilor Daryl Legg, back row second from left, presented the check to the troop’s Senior Patrol Leader Mason Duke, front row center. Troop 731 members are, on front row from left, Assistant Scoutmaster Tracy Robinette, Assistant Scoutmaster Matt Duke, Jacob Robinette, Duke, Dawson Walters and Tasker Colbert. On the back row are Legg, Thomas Spears, Landon Burmaster, Cale Stewart, Maddox Mayo and Scoutmaster Jeff Mayo. The troop meets most Monday nights at the First United Methodist Church in Sallisaw.
