John Mayhan, center, was honored after 30 years of service on the hospital board with a reception held last Tuesday at Northeastern Health System Sequoyah Hospital. In addition to receiving a plaque, Mayhan, who resigned June 10, was presented a blanket by Cherokee Nation Deputy Principal Chief Bryan Warner, right, who also serves on the board. “We wanted to honor Mr. Mayhan for all the years he has taken care of patients including some of our tribal members,” Warner said. “We appreciate all elders and their service to our community and to all our people.” Pictured also are fellow board members, Todd Martin, Ernie Martens and Debbie Bartel.
