Muldrow girls 68, Idabel 27
Muldrow’s Alicia McCloria knocked down three consecutive 3-pointers midway through the first quarter to give the Lady Bulldogs an eight-point lead against Idabel on Friday night. McCloria’s first 3-pointer came with 3:22 left in the first quarter. It gave Muldrow a 9-7 lead. She connected on another trey 22 seconds later to put the Lady Bulldogs up 12-7. With 2:29 left in the first, McCloria connected again from 3-point land to put Muldrow up 15-7.
McCloria’s 3-point barrage gave Muldrow a lead it would never relinquish.
Muldrow’s Chelsi Possage made a free throw and Mariah Jenkins made a two-point basket to give Muldrow an 18-9 advantage to start the second half.
The Lady Bulldogs outscored Idabel 22-4 in the second period to build a 40-13 half-time advantage.
McCloria and CaTia Gladney scored six points, each, in the second. Possage added five points.
Muldrow outscored the Lady Warriors 12-6 in the third, and 16-8 in the fourth to pull off the 41-point victory.
McCloria finished with 18 points for the Lady Bulldogs. Taylen Collins had 12 points. Gladney and Possage finished with 7 apiece.
Idabel didn’t have any players reach double figures. Mady Pratt and Niyah Whinston led the Idabel attack with six points each.
Muldrow boys 54, Idabel 40
Muldrow went on an 11-0 run late in the first and early in the second quarter to build a 19-7 advantage over the Idabel Warriors with 5:20 left in the second quarter. In the third quarter, an 11-0 run gave Muldrow a 44-17 advantage with 2:53 left in the third quarter.
The Bulldogs first barrage started with 15.7 seconds left in the first when Trenden Collins was fouled while making a layup. He hit the free throw to give Muldrow an 11-7 lead as the second quarter started.
Muldrow’s Sean Irvan made a couple of twopoint buckets to give the Bulldogs a 15-7 advantage with 5:57 left in the first half. Muldrow expanded the lead to 19-7 when Hunter Breedlove and Watie Byrd made buckets.
Muldrow scored the final seven points of the second quarter to take a 28-14 lead into halftime. Breedlove hit a 3-pointer and Collins connected on two layups.
The Bulldogs had a 31-17 advantage when the third-quarter run started. Konnor Wight made a 3-pointer and a layup. Collins hit a 3-pointer, and Wight hit a trey to give Muldrow a 44-17 advantage with 2:53 left in third. Muldrow led 46-26 as the fourth quarter started.
Muldrow took some of the pace out of the game in the fourth quarter to get easy shots and limit Idabel’s possessions.
Collins led the Muldrow scoring with 21. Breedlove and Wight finished with 11 and 10 respectively. Byrd had eight points and Sean Irvan finished with four.
Idabel didn’t have any player finish in double figures. Jaquevan King led the Warriors with nine points. Nathaniel Mullin finished with eight and Reece Scales chipped in six.
